The intellectual adventure of Louis Gardet, the great Catholic scholar of Islam of the twentieth century, began with an article on the relationship between reason and faith in the Muslim religion. Esteemed by Paul VI, he was a great friend of Jacques Maritain and worked with Father Anawati.
