Saudi Arabia arrests prominent cleric: social media. Sheikh Salman al-Awdah, an influential cleric who was imprisoned from 1994-99 for agitating for political change and has 14 million followers on Twitter, appears to have been detained over the weekend (Reuters).

Iraq holding 1,400 foreign wives, children of suspected Islamic State fighters. Most came from Turkey. Many others were from former Soviet states, such as Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Russia, Iraqi army and intelligence officers said. Other Asians and a “very few” French and Germans were also among them (Reuters).
