Luigi Achilli is a researcher at the European University Institute in Florence and the Christian Michaelson Institute in Bergen, Norway. He has taught at Cambridge, at the SOAS and at several universities in the Middle East. The focus of his work is irregular migration, refugees, smuggling networks and transnational crime.
