Maria Laura Conte is a journalist and lives and works in Venice. Director of the Oasis multi-lingual monthly newsletter, she is a member of the International Scientific Committee of the Oasis Foundation. For Oasis she has edited reports and interviews from the Sudan, Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Indonesia. On this country she wrote Dove guarda l’Indonesia. Cristiani e musulmani nel paese del sorriso (Marcianum Press, 2006), which was the winner of the Capri-San Michele 2007 Prize (section 'Monsignor Gamboni').
