Turkey Asks U.S. to Stop Kurds From Shifting Fighters to Western Syria. The Turkish government took the extraordinary step on Wednesday of asking the United States to stop Kurdish commanders from diverting their forces from areas of eastern Syria to the fight in Afrin in the west, writes Anne Barnard (The New York Times).
In Iran, women can’t show their hair in public. If they do, they are fined $25. Since the month of December, says The Guardian, more than 30 Iranian women have been arrested for this reason and one of them, who showed hair in protest against the Government, has been condemned to two years of prison.
