An Economic risk analyst at the World Food Program of the United Nations and Research fellow at the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI), Dacrema obtained his PhD in International studies at the University of Trento, Italy. He was a researcher at the American University of Beirut, at the George Washington University and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He collaborated with various newspapers including Corriere della Sera, Eastwest, Linkiesta, Formiche, and edited the blog “Souk Beirut” on the Italian newspaper Il Foglio.
