The annual meeting of the Scientific Board of Oasis, the International Foundation established in 2004 by Cardinal Angelo Scola, the Patriarch of Venice, and present in many parts of the world thanks to its international network, will take place in Beirut on the coming 21st of June.
The mission of the Oasis Foundation is the promotion of mutual knowledge and understanding between Christians and Muslims.
The theme chosen for the 2010 meeting is the natural development of the debates, exchanges and researches of the previous years: Venice 2009 (Interpreting traditions in the age of métissage), Amman 2008 (Religious Freedom: An asset for every society) Venice 2007 (The métissage), Cairo 2006 (Fundamental Rights and Democracies), Venice 2005 (Unity in diversity).
Oasis runs different instruments: a biannual and plurilingual magazine, a monthly newsletter, two series of books, a website....
