The recent attack on Christian churches in Iraq is very serious, all the more so as it strikes places of worship, which, as the servant of God John Paul II stated in the Omayyad Mosque in Damascus, are «as oasis in which one meets with the Merciful God […] and with one’s brothers and sisters in the bond of religion».
Oasis International Foundation expresses its sympathy and sustain to the Iraqi Christian communities, once again victims of assaults after having severely suffered and been constrained to forced emigration over the past years.
It is not an escalation of violence that the Iraqi people needs more, but a path of reconciliation which affirms the practical value of living together
