Ahmad Wagih was born in Cairo, Egypt, in May 1982. He obtained a master with a thesis on the analytical and comparative study of the political thought of Ibn al-Qayyim. He is a current PhD student in Islamic Theology. He is also a member of the Islamic Philosophy section within the Dar al-‘Ulum department at Cairo University. He was a researcher in the Progetto dei 200 of IDEO (Dominican Institute of Orientale Studies), and he is one of the founders of the Madarat Centre (MC), a centre for research and publication, in Egypt. He has worked on the figure of Ibn Taymiyya and his thought, with a particular focus on his method in Islamic Theology. He is part of the 2017 Oasis project "In Search of a Leader. Authority in Contemporary Islam".
