Franco Riva is Associate Professor at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan and teaches social ethics and ethical institutions. His Corpo e metafora in Gabriel Marcel (Vita e Pensiero, Milan 1985), was awarded the philosophy prize of the Centro di Studi Filosofici of Gallarate and his La rinuncia al Sé. Intersoggettività ed etica pubblica (Edizioni Lavoro, Rome 2002) received the Selezione Feudo di Maida Prize. Amongst his recent works we may list: Idoli della felicità. Lavoro, festa e tempo libero (2006), Partecipazione e responsabilità (2007), L’obesità, il corpo e l’altro (2007).
