Jean-Louis Bruguès, Dominican, was ordained a priest on 22 June 1975. Formerly professor of Fundamental Moral Theology at the University of Fribourg and member of the International Theological Commission, he was Bishop of Angers from 2000 to 2007. As Archbishop he has been Secretary of the Congregation for Catholic Education since 2008. Since 2012, he is archivist and librarian of the Vatican Secret Archives. Among his publications there are: Dictionnaire de morale catholique (Tours, 1991) and Précis de théologie morale générale (2 vol., Paris, 1995 and 2002).
