Mathieu Terrier obtained his doctorate in Religious Studies from the École Pratique des Hautes Études in Paris (Sorbonne). He is now Chargé de Recherche at the CNRS on the History of Islamic thought. His research concentrates on Imamite Shi‘ism as it relates to philosophy and Sufism. He is the author of numerous academic articles, as well as Histoire de la sagesse et philosophie shi’ite (Le Cerf, 2016).
