Muhammad Sammak

He was born in Beirut in 1936. He is an advisor to the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Lebanon and co-Secretary General of Lebanon’s National Committee for Muslim-Christian Dialogue. In 1995, he represented the Sunni community at the Special Synod for Lebanon convened by John Paul II. He is author of numerous articles and books on the relationship between Islam and politics, as well as on Muslim-Christian dialogue. He is one of the signatories to the Amman Message (2004) and A Common Word (2007).
