Sara Borrillo is a postdoctoral researcher in History of Islamic Countries at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”. Her research interests include the history of women’s movements in the MENA region, secular and Islamic feminism, new female religious authorities, Islamic contemporary thought and socio-political transformations after 2011, especially in Morocco and Tunisia. She devised the project Svelate. Marocco: femminile plurale (www.svelate.org). She published several scholarly articles and the book Femminismi e Islam in Marocco.
