The second world congress for Middle Eastern Studies, promoted by the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies (RIIFS), will take place in Amman, Jordan on 11-16 June 2006.
Experts on the Middle East, from all over the world and all branches of the humanities and social sciences, will assemble together to share and exchange their research, experience and ideas.
The first world congress was organised by the University of Mainz in 2002 and attracted over 2,000 scholars from around the globe.
RIIFS invites all the institutions and organisations that took part in the first world congress as well as other institutions, scholars, experts and students to submit proposals for panels, papers and roundtables. The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 15 February 2006.
